| 2013 Topps 75th Anniversary celebrates the company’s diamond anniversary with an eclectic checklist that offers a look at more than 100 different entertainment sets. The hobby-only release includes three autographs and one stamped buyback per box. The 2013 Topps 75th Anniversary base set has 100 cards. Each is from a different set in the company’s history. Collectors can relive classic TV shows, movies, historical events, music and more. Len Brown, a retired creative director who worked at Topps for more than 40 years, is helping pick the images as well as writing card backs. It’s a pop culture potpourri that ranges from Davy Crockett to Batman to ALF. Of course, Topps properties like Garbage Pail Kids, Wacky Packages and Mars Attacks also appear. For many, it acts as an opportunity to learn a little more about some sets that may not have uncovered. 2013 Topps 75th gives a glimpse of how the hobby has evolved. Parallels are part of that evolution and 2013 Topps 75th Anniversary has several of them. Rainbow Foil cards fall one per pack. Diamond Anniversary cards are limited to 75 copies each. Modern Gloss cards have just ten copies. These are intended to present old cards as they might have looked if they were printed today. Finally, there are 400 total Printing Plates. Mini Cards is an eight-card insert that showcases some of the smaller-sized sets Topps has made through the years. Test Issue looks are eight sets that were in the works but never received a full national release. Pop Culture Autographs are the primary hits in 2013 Topps 75th Anniversary. Parallels include Rainbow Foil (150 per signer) and Diamond Anniversary (75 per signer). In addition to the Pop Culture Autographs, the release also has Stamped Buyback Autographs and 50 total Cut Signatures. Every box of 2013 Topps 75th Anniversary also has one Stamped Buyback, a card from one of the original series with a small foil addition noting it as a buyback. | |||||||
