This is the first Star Trek trading card set produced. It was released in a relatively small geographical area consisting of only a few mid-west states. The wrapper also indicates it was intended to be distributed in Canada, however, I don’t know if it was ever sold in Canada. Soon after its release, the unsold cards were recalled and destroyed. One unsubstantiated rumor is that Leaf didn’t have proper licensing to distribute Star Trek cards. It’s unknown how many cards came in each pack but the wrapper states, “One slab bubble gum & trading cards.” So there were at least two cards per pack. There was a reprint of this set in 1981 and also a European reprint set which is not marked as a reprint on the back.
