Rittenhouse’s Star Trek Beyond Cards, Better Late Than Never?

Star Trek: The Movies

Rittenhouse Archives is releasing a new Star Trek set covering the Star Trek: Beyond movie which came out in July of 2016. It’s safe to say that since it’s been a year and a half since the movie’s release, the enthusiasm has subsided. The movie itself currently has a 7.1/10 on IMDB and an 80% favorable rating on Rotten Tomatoes. As far as Star Trek movies are concerned, Star Trek: Beyond is right in the middle of the pack. Not great and not bad.

Looking at the cards for the set, there’s nothing new to report. It’s another Star Trek card set with the same types of cards that you’ve already seen in sets before. That’s not to say it’s not worth getting, there’s plenty of cool stuff in there and there’s one card like no other in any Star Trek set before. Rittenhouse is including a seven-piece bridge crew relic card which has a uniform swatch from each member of the bridge crew on a single card. Unfortunately, that particular card is an archive box exclusive. That will surely push the price for that card up above $150.00.

Even though this set is focused on Star Trek: Beyond, it’s not exclusive to that movie. There’s autograph signers from all three of the newest Star Trek movies and in three different formats; Star Trek Design (Used for the three most recent movies), Classic Movie Design (Used since 2007 for all movie autographs), and Into Darkness Design (Used only for that movie).
